In-House-Classes
Four in-house-classes, spread evenly over the two years of the study cycle, offer the opportunity to meet face-to-face with your fellow students and professors and lecturers. You will convene in seminars and lectures for presentations, discussions, and simulation workshops (for part-time candidates, visiting four in-house classes is mandatory. Individual arrangements with the IR Online team are possible.)
The in-house classes take place in Berlin for one week (Mon-Fri), always at the beginning of October and the beginning of March. Take the time to explore this fascinating city before and after the sessions! Each module will be introduced or concluded during on-site instruction. Tutors and students have the opportunity to personally discuss results and particular topics in more detail. This enriching intellectual exchange is an important supplement to the online instruction.
Through discussions and round-table meetings, students sharpen their communicative competencies and learn how to present clear-cut statements in an intercultural context. Furthermore, these personal meetings provide an excellent opportunity to create a network between young dedicated IR professionals and decision-makers and experts from the various IR-related fields. Moreover, in-house classes actively train the ability to work in an international team through innovative simulations of international negotiation processes.
For the periods of on-site instruction, students are required to cover travel and accommodation expenses individually. Students below the age of 30 also have to prove that they are sufficiently covered by health insurance.
