Global Politics Syria Summer School 2008

Welcome to the homepage of the Global Politics Summer School Syria 2008.

The core objective of the Global Politics Summer School Syria 2008 is to present and discuss new approaches in global politics. This focus allows the summer school program to go above and beyond the traditional methods and perspectives usually encompassed in an international relations curriculum. Additionally, state-of-the-art teaching and learning methods, ranging from interactive working groups to simulation games, are employed in the summer school.

The Global Politics Summer School Syria 2008 is jointly conducted by the Arab International University in Damascus and the Center for Global Politics at Freie Universität Berlin. Focusing on „Global Shifts and Transitional Politics in the Middle East“ the summer school seeks to identify challenges in the fields of international diplomacy and political regulation in a comparative setting and enable students to critically reflect on the explanatory power of traditional and new concepts in International Relations.

The Global Politics Summer School Syria will take place in Damascus from July 19 to July 30, 2008.
