Everybody talks about Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). We want to produce one.
News from May 10, 2013
The Center for Global Politics is participating in an international MOOC Production Fellowship contest initiated by “iversity” and the “Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft” (Association for the Promotion of German Science).
Our MOOC with the title “E-(x)cite. The Game of Social Research” teaches students methods for avoiding plagiarism and producing exceptional scientific research in a fun and interactive way. We aim to help students investigate all manner of important social and political phenomena: be it the Collapse of the Soviet Union, the current financial crisis or piracy off the cost of Somalia.
Universities and Institutes from all over the world have submitted more than 260 applications to the contest. Only ten of them will receive 25.000 Euros to implement their MOOC concept.
In order to realize our free online course, we need your help: Please watch our application with a short video clip online at https://moocfellowship.org/submissions/e-x-cite-join-the-game-of-social-research. If you like it, you can vote for us by simply pressing the green “Vote/Abstimmen” button. You can also help make this course happen by spreading the word! The voting stage ends on May 22.
