The Center for Global Politics unites four distinct graduate study programs:

East European Studies (EES) Online
The demand for East European experts with multi-disciplinary training has increased dramatically with the economic and political opening of Eastern Europe.

EES Online is an accredited two-year distance learning master’s program that prepares students for challenging Eastern Europe related assignments in business, administration, (non-)governmental organizations, and for further research.

EES Online has been named one of Germany’s Top Ten International Master’s Degree Courses by the Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

International Relations (IR) Online
IR Online is a two-year distance learning master’s program (of excellence) that brings young, dedicated professionals together in their efforts to attain higher positions with governmental agencies, internationally operating private enterprises, NGOs, and international organizations.

In this program, students will gain in-depth knowledge of the theories and prevailing issues of international relations as well as acquire practical skills for meeting the professional challenges of a globalized world.

German Studies Russia
In cooperation with the Moscow State University for International Relations (MGIMO), Freie Universität (FU) Berlin offers a one-year German supplementary diploma course. The program addresses advanced students of all MGIMO departments who wish to deepen their knowledge of Germany and Europe. The focal point is political science, but the program also deals with broader topics concerning Germany and German society.

Scholarships are available for outstanding graduates.

Global Politics Summer School China
The Global Politics Summer School is a joint project between FU Berlin and Fudan University Shanghai. The partners pursue the objective of educating students in new approaches to global politics at the beginning of the 21st century.

The two-week intensive program offers lectures by renowned German and Chinese scholars, a simulation exercise, a project module, and an exciting extracurricular program in the dynamic Shanghai region.

Successful program participants are awarded a joint certificate from FU Berlin and Fudan University Shanghai.
