Goals and Objectives

IR Online provides the ideal opportunity to gain profound insights into the field of international relations, to enhance your world-wide career perspectives, and to become part of an exiting network of IR experts while staying on the job.

Goals of the M.A. program International Relations are:

  • to teach interdisciplinary competency in the field of international relations, as well as broad methodological competencies in various areas of scientific inquiry,
  • to produce competent professionals who demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the theory and practice of international relations,
  • to train and develop skills which are necessary for personal – and career development,
  • to create a both effective and inspiring blended learning environment which enables students to stay on the job while studying,
  • to build an international network of experts in the field of international relations.

 

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  • manifest advanced expertise in the field of international relations,
  • address and contribute to issues of global politics,
  • work with various stakeholders to design and implement effective policies related to IR,
  • comprehend, critically analyze, and evaluate trends and developments in the fields of international politics, economics, culture, communication, and law,
  • demonstrate advanced skills in project and time management, presentation, leadership, and the use of information technology,
  • fulfill exiting positions in academia and consulting, governmental and international agencies, and in the media.
